Medical Interventions

Biomedical Intervention

At ASC, we believe regressive autism is an underlying medical problem, that causes neurological issues, that results in behavioral outcomes. David Adams, M.D., is the medical director and physician implementing biomedical interventions at ASC. Biomedical intervention addresses the whole child. It looks at the entire system to determine where the problems are and the best way to address those issues. Individuals with ASD's often have underlying genetic issues, problems with their immune system, gastrointestinal problems, metabolic issues, and much more at the core of the disorder. We believe the most effective treatments are found by identifying the etiology, or the root cause, of the problem. Treating symptoms often just covers up the problem, without truly addressing the underlying issue.

New Patient Visits $250.00

Returning Patient Visits $200.00

** A $100.00 non-refundable deposit is due when the appointment is booked.**

New patients are required to attend the Biomedical and Dietary Intervention Workshop taught the 1st Saturday of each month at ASC. Please call the office to schedule your appointment and RSVP for the workshop.

We also have a required reading list for patients and the books are listed below. We find that the largest common denominator in those who make significant progress in their treatment is parents or caretakers who become the experts, learn and understand how to implement the interventions, and can train others and recognize when interventions are not being applied correctly.

Children With Starving Brains, By: Jacqueline McCandless
Changing The Course Of Autism, By: Bryon Jepson
A Work In Progress, By: Ron Leaf
Unraveling The Mystery Of Autism And Pervasive Developmental Disorder, By: Karyn Seroussi

Our Policy

ASC works with a large number of families from around the world and our time is quite valuable, as we continually have families on waiting lists. We arrived at the decision some time ago that we will only work with families who are actively making the effort to implement protocols and strategies as directed. We have a very limited number of office visit time slots available, which means we want to insure we are spending our time efficiently with families who are serious about pursuing progress and improvement. We go beyond the call to support and assist the families we serve, in return, we require families to be on the same page and making forward progress in the implementation of their treatment plan.
